I started playing on an old 'Stella' with a raised nut when I was 8. I switched to a regular guitar in the early 60's when the Beatles invaded but picked up a Sho-bud Maverick (1 knee lever - 3 pedals) in the early 70's when I was gigging with a country band. I have a question that hopefully you can help me with. I want to re-learn and play Hawaiian style. Most things I read say the E9th tuning is primarily for Country. And the C6th or C6/Am tuning is difficult for beginners. I was also thinking of maybe not connecting the pedals and playing this as a 10 string console because another musician told me that playing Hawaiian on a pedal doesn't sound very good. Do you have any suggestions? Any advice you could offer would be very much appreciated. I got a Multi-Kord steel pedal for my birthday.
